Reading, Writing and the Engaged Community
Do you have a desire to be a more knowledgeable activist and skilled writer?
Led by graduates of the USM Stonecoast MFA program, a series of writing
workshops
is being offered to adult writers of all levels and styles as an
opportunity to critically
engage in the writings Martin Luther King, Jr. In each
session, participants will
read a common text followed by discussion with the
class then time devoted
to writing. Writing can be done in any form the
participant chooses such as
a personal reflection in a diary or journal, letter,
short story, poem, song
or speech.
Participants will have both the opportunity to share their writing at a public
recital and have it published later in the year.

Public Recital
Registration is required. Program offered
at no cost to participants. Additional
opportunities will be provided to
continue writing throughout
next year based on
community interest.
