breakfast program cover competition

The NAACP Portland Branch is seeking design submissions from students attending
high school in Portland. One winning design will be chosen as the cover of the
2010 Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast Celebration program book. Selected
submissions may be exhibited at the 2010 Breakfast, to be held Jan. 18
at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland.

submission requirements:

Theme: The theme of this year's Breakfast is Stride Towards Freedom:
Why King Matters Now. While program covers do not have to illustrate this
theme, preference will be given to submissions that do.

Dimensions of the Breakfast program book are 8.5 x 11 inches. Cover
designs should be slightly larger if designed to bleed (cover the entire page
without a white or non-printed margin). Artwork produced at a larger size
should maintain the proportions of the printed program or
significant cropping might have to occur.

Color: The program cover is printed digitally, which
means designs can be in black and white or full color.

Submission: We ask that each school submit no
more than 3 to 5 entries and suggest that
entries be winnowed by teachers or panels of
students. At that point artwork will be picked
up from each school by an NAACP
representative.

Deadline: Dec. 15, 2009
